Privacy Policy

AZ Nurtured Heart Counseling Center

At AZ Nurtured Heart Counseling Center, we understand that privacy is deeply connected to safety, trust, and the therapeutic process. This policy explains how your information is collected, used, and protected when you interact with our website and services including telehealth services.

By using this website or engaging with our services, you consent to the practices described below.

Information We Collect

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you:

  • Submit      a contact or consultation request
  • Schedule      an appointment
  • Engage      in services (including telehealth)
  • Subscribe      to communications

This may include your name, email address, phone number, and any information you choose to share.

If you purchase services, payment information is processed securely through HIPAA-compliant third-party providers. We do not store full credit card details on our servers.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information in ways that support your care and experience, including:

  • Responding      to inquiries and scheduling requests
  • Providing      therapy services (in-person and telehealth)
  • Communicating      about appointments, updates, or resources
  • Improving      the functionality and usability of our website
  • Sending      communications you have opted into

We do not sell or use your information in ways that conflict with ethical or therapeutic standards.

HIPAA & Protected Health Information (PHI)

If you become a client of AZ Nurtured Heart Counseling Center, your information may be considered Protected Health Information (PHI) under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

In that case:

  • Your      information will be protected in accordance with HIPAA privacy and      security rules
  • You      will receive a separate Notice of Privacy Practices outlining your      rights in detail
  • Clinical      records are stored using HIPAA-compliant systems with appropriate      safeguards
  • We      only disclose PHI with your written authorization, except where required      or permitted by law (e.g., safety concerns, abuse reporting, court orders)

Submitting information through this website alone does notestablish a therapist-client relationship and is not a secure method for sharing sensitive clinical details.

Telehealth & Electronic Communication

AZ Nurtured Heart Counseling Center offers telehealth services to clients located in states where the clinician is licensed, including Arizona and Maine (LMFT).

When engaging in telehealth services:

  • Sessions      are conducted through HIPAA-compliant, encrypted platforms designed      to protect your privacy
  • While      we take every precaution, electronic communication (including video,      email, and messaging) carries some inherent risk
  • You      are responsible for choosing a private location and secure internet      connection for sessions whenever possible

By participating in telehealth, you acknowledge and accept these risks and limitations.

How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption      (SSL) for data transmission
  • Secure,      HIPAA-compliant platforms for client records and telehealth
  • Limited      access to sensitive information
  • Routine      monitoring for security vulnerabilities

Despite these safeguards, no system can guarantee absolute security.

Cookies & Website Data

Our website may use cookies and similar tools to improve your experience and understand site usage. This helps us make the website more accessible and relevant.

You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features may be affected.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers (such as scheduling systems, payment processors, and analytics tools) to support our operations. When applicable, these providers are HIPAA-compliant or meet appropriate privacy and security standards.

We do not sell your personal information.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request      access to your personal data
  • Request      corrections or updates
  • Withdraw      consent for communications
  • Request      deletion of your data (when legally appropriate)

If you are a client, your rights regarding PHI are further outlined in your Notice of Privacy Practices.

Legal Compliance

We comply with applicable laws and ethical standards, including:

  • The      Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
  • California      Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA)
  • Children’s      Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
  • CAN-SPAM      Act

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Data Retention

We retain personal and clinical information only as long as necessary to:

  • Provide      services
  • Meet      legal, ethical, and licensing requirements
  • Maintain      accurate records

Client records are retained in accordance with Arizona and Maine licensure laws.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in practice, law, or technology. Updates will be posted here with a revised date.
